The band started in a writer’s round. Every third Wednesday of the month Dave Willis (Possum Jenkins) hosted a songwriter’s night at the Old Winston Social Club in Winston-Salem, NC.

The show drew writers and musicians from across the Triad, including Molly McGinn (Amelia’s Mechanics), bassist Jared Church (Possum Jenkins), and harp-player Brent Buckner (Possum Jenkins and Emma Gibbs Band).

Playing a mix of vintage country tunes by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Little Feat, the group moved from monthly shows to weekly rehearsals, writing and arranging new songs.
